Betsy Graves Reyneau

Betsy Reyneau was raised in Detroit and studied at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. She is best known for a series of portraits of prominent African Americans that she created for the Harmon Foundation. Reyneau was active in the women’s suffrage and civil rights movements. Her work is in the collections of the National Portrait Gallery.
