DescriptionA color poster titled, “U.S. NAVY STEPS IN ADVANCEMENT / FROM APPRENTICE SEAMAN TO CHIEF PETTY OFFICER.” The poster includes a large chart that has U.S. Navy ranks with insignia, pay, and titles along the top. Below that is a list of various U.S. Navy branches and positions on the right, and gray scale photographic images of enlisted men and women on the left. In the bottom left corner of the poster is a black and white photographic image of a man and woman standing and looking up at the chart. Printed at the bottom of the poster: “THIS CHART HAS NOT BEEN LAID OUT IN ORDER OF PRECEDENCE OF RATINGS. SEE BUPERS MANUAL, PART D, CHAPTER 5, ART. 5102. / U. S.
