DescriptionA color poster regarding the importance of an Allied victory in World War II. The poster features a large illustration of a group of French male works standing with their hands up in the air. In the background is an exterior wall on which is an orange and black poster titled “OFFICIAL VICHY DECREE.” White text along the top of the image reads: We French workers warn you . . . defeat means slavery, starvation, death. The artist’s facsimile signature is in the lower right corner of the illustration: Ben Shahn.
