DescriptionA large color poster, titled “STORM,” featuring Dutch World War II anti-Allies propaganda. The illustrated image depicts a red-colored room with a framed caricature portrait of Franklin D. Roosevelt on the wall. In the center of the room are caricature images of Winston Churchill and Joseph Stalin clutching each other in fear as they look at a “STORM SS” newsletter that has blown into the room through an open window. Churchill’s cigar has been cut in half by a bloody axe that has fallen from Stalin’s grotesque fingers. In the lower left of the room, a mole with a white cross on its back is fleeing the scene. The artist’s facsimile signature is in the upper right corner: “POUWELS.” Printed text along the bottom of the poster reads: “STORM – BIJ ALLE KIOSKEN 11 CENT / No. 32 / DRUK MES & BRONKHORST HAARLEM.”
