The artifact collections of the Franklin D. Roosevelt Library contain over 34,000 artifacts that relate to the lives, careers and interests of Franklin D. Roosevelt and Eleanor Roosevelt. This material includes items associated with Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt, the Roosevelt family, personal and political associates of the Roosevelts, and the Roosevelt presidency. Other artifacts relate to the eras in which Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt lived and were politically active, specifically the early Twentieth Century, World War I, the Great Depression, World War II, and the post-war period. The collection also contains groups of material related to the personal collecting interests of Franklin D. Roosevelt, including ship models and other naval materials, postage stamp items, coins, and materials related to the Hudson Valley region of New York State. Gifts from Heads of State and from the public are located within the several subject matter series categories.
