DescriptionA dessert plate in the Schumann Chateau Dresden floral pattern. The white plate has a scalloped edge and a reticulated (pierced) rim. Painted at the center of the plate and on the rim are a variety of colorful flowers and leaves. The edge of the plate is trimmed in gold and there are gold accents on the rim.
On the reverse of the plate, the manufacturer's mark is stamped in blue: “[a crowned shield with a rampant lion] / Schumann / Dresden."
Label TextThis plate is part of a set of eleven Chateau Dresden dessert plates (MO 1978.42.1-11). According to Curtis Roosevelt, the set was used by his grandmother, Eleanor Roosevelt.On the reverse of the plate, the manufacturer's mark is stamped in blue: “[a crowned shield with a rampant lion] / Schumann / Dresden."
