DescriptionA white silk, hemstitched handkerchief. Embroidered in white thread in one corner of the handkerchief: HAPPY / Franklin D Roosevelt [embroidered signature] / DAYS.
Label TextThis handkerchief was sent by Franklin Roosevelt to Mr. and Mrs. Sol Huford of Erie, Pennsylvania in March 1933, but the handkerchief, and the envelope it was sent in, were returned as undeliverable due to an issue with the address.Handkerchiefs like this were known to be sent out to people who named their children after FDR.

Custodial History NoteDeposited at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum by Franklin D. Roosevelt on July 22, 1941. It was donated as a bequest of FDR to the Library in 1947.
