DescriptionA temporary parking sign for the March 4, 1933 presidential inauguration of Franklin D. Roosevelt in Washington, DC. The front of the metal, shield-shaped sign is painted off-white with red and black text that reads: EMERGENCY / NO PARKING / MIDNIGHT / MARCH 3RD / TO / MIDNIGHT MARCH 4TH. / POLICE DEP'T. On the reverse of the sign are twelve signatures, and a handwritten note that reads: FDR's Inauguration Day / March 4, / 1933.
Label TextThis sign was used in Washington, DC to control parking during Franklin D. Roosevelt's first inauguration as President of the United States on March 4, 1933. The reverse of the sign was inscribed and signed by a group of Hyde Park, NY friends of the Roosevelts.Additional Details
