DescriptionA color poster featuring an illustration of a U.S. military pilot wearing a fighter uniform with goggles on his head. He is sitting in the open cockpit of a plane and holding his thumb up and smiling. U.S. Army military planes are seen flying in the background. Red and black text at the top and bottom of the poster reads: "you buy 'em / we'll fly 'em!" / DEFENSE / BONDS / STAMPS. The Liberty bond minuteman symbol is in the lower right corner of the poster along with the words: THE MORE BONDS YOU BUY - THE MORE PLANES WILL FLY. The artwork is by J. Walter and Walter G. Wilkinson. Additional small text in the bottom margin reads: Form D.S.S. 178A / U.S. Government Printing Office : 1942-O-436100.
