Descriptiona) A black velvet evening purse, possibly made in India, with a handle and a snap closure. The front flap of the purse has an embroidered fan-like raised pattern made with gold and silver metallic wire. The back of the bag is unadorned. The short, attached handle is made from cotton cord covered with gold metallic wire. The interior of the purse is lined with black satin. Three items are inside the bag:

b) A white cardstock business card printed: "N.N. Haralu / Press Attaché / EMBASSY OF INDIA.”

c) A small, round gold-colored Franklin D. Roosvelt and Little White House, Warm Springs commemorative souvenir medal.

d) A small white pill of unidentified material.
Label TextThis clutch purse used by Eleanor Roosevelt was possibly acquired during her 1952 trip to India. It was later owned by her daughter, Anna Roosevelt Halsted, and granddaughter, Eleanor Seagraves.
