DescriptionA game based on time titled, "WHAT O'CLOCK OR, Old Father Time." The game comes in a two-piece white cardboard box with no markings.

The game consists of a sheet of printed instructions and 48 white cards with red and black time-related illustrations (18 "A.M." cards; 17 "P.M." cards; and 13 cards with times and written directions). In addition to the title, the publishers' information is on the cover of the instruction sheet: Entered according to act of Congress, in the year 1875, by F. A. WRIGHT, in the Office of the Librarian / of Congress at Washington. Additional information on the publisher is found on the sheet: Copyrighted and Published by F. A. WRIGHT, Cincinnati.

Stored with the game, but apparently unrelated to it, are 33 white playing cards with a blue and white design on one side and clubs, diamonds, hearts, and spades on the other side along with 19th-century caricature-like color illustrations on the other side. The maker of the cards is unknown.
Label TextThis game is part of a collection of 19th century games designed for the amuseument and instruction of children (MO 2007.858a-r) purchased by Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1939 for $97.50.
