DescriptionAn original black and white cartoon featuring Franklin D. Roosevelt's Scottish terrier dog, Fala. The cartoon is an indoor scene showing FDR's White House desk and chair with the Presidential and American flags behind it. Fala is lying on the desk and is entangled in the wires of four microphones, one of which has fallen onto the floor. The artist's signature is in the lower left corner of the cartoon: A. S. FOSTER. The caption is handwritten in pencil below the cartoon: "BROADCASTING FROM THE WHITE HOUSE IS ESPECIALLY TRYING". The cartoon sheet has a publication measurement written in pencil on it.
Label TextIn 1942, American illustrator and cartoonist Alan Foster created a series of cartoons, titled "Fala," for Liberty magazine. This cartoon appeared in the August 1, 1942 issue of Liberty.
