Obverse: Left-facing profiles of Franklin D. Roosevelt and John N. Garner with their names at the bottom of the plaque and the inscription: A∙NEW∙DAY∙ A∙NEW∙DEAL. The artist's signature is along the right edge: © Gutzon Borglum.

Label TextDuring the 1932 presidential campaign, a movement to raise funds for the Democratic National Committee was organized in Philadelphia by a group called Shareholders of America. For one dollar or more, contributors could purchase a bronze pin based on this plaque by Gutzon John Borglum. FDR was the first person to purchase a medallion. Borglum subsequently presented this plaque to him. It is on display in the 1932 ELECTION CAMPAIGN exhibit in the Museum’s THE PROMISE OF CHANGE gallery.
