Descriptiona-b) An Arabian janbiya dagger and scabbard. The curved blade of the dagger is made of steel and the hilt is made of hammered gold and gold filigree. Set into the hilt of the dagger is one large diamond encircled by eight smaller diamonds. A larger diamond, originally set lower on the hilt, is now stored separately. The leather-backed scabbard is also made of hammered gold and gold filigree, and is interspersed with thin gold roping tied between gold rings. Set into the scabbard are two large diamonds.

c) A dark red velvet dagger belt, elaborately decorated on the front with gold and silver metallic thread, sequins, and beads. One end of the belt holds the metal buckle, and the other end the metal loop.






Label TextKing Abdul Aziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia presented President Roosevelt with this dagger, scabbard, and belt during their February 14, 1945 meeting aboard the USS Quincy on the Great Bitter Lake in Egypt.
