DescriptionA model of a single-masted yacht named, FRANKLIN. The yacht's wood and metal hull is painted black and the unfurled sails are made of white-painted metal. Painted on the main sail is the image of a flying condor holding the flags of the United States and Chile in its talons. The opposite side of the same sail has the painted image of the American and the Chilean flags crossed. On the masthead is a Chilean pennant. The model is mounted to a wood and metal base which bears the inscription: Construido por S. Sanhueza G. Aviacion, Chile. Resting unattached on the base is a small black and brass plaque inscribed: F. FEDERIGI e HIJOS / MARMOLERIA / BALCARCE 600 / MERCEDES / SAN LUIS.
Label TextThis model was presented to President Roosevelt by General Manuel Tovarias of the Chilean Air Force (through the Honorable Claude G. Bowers, U.S. Envoy to Chile) on July 7, 1944.
