DescriptionA small, hollow, pot metal front-facing head of Franklin D. Roosevelt on a cube-shaped black metal base. An inscription on a bronze-colored background on the front of the base reads: Franklin D. Roosevelt / By / Jo Davidson. The artist's name is inscribed on the reverse of the head: Jo DAVIDSON · WASH · 1934 ©. Stamped on the interior of the head is the manufacturer's name: A. C. Rehberger Co. Chicago.
Label TextAt the end of 1933 and the beginning of 1934, Franklin Roosevelt sat several times for sculptor Jo Davidson at the White House. This bust is a miniature version of the resulting bronze bust of FDR completed by Davidson in 1934.
