DescriptionAn original ink wash and gouache double caricature portrait of Theodore Roosevelt and Franklin D. Roosevelt. The drawing is done in shades of gray and white. On the left is a simple, forward-facing head and neck portrait of a grinning Theodore Roosevelt dressed in an Army helmet and uniform and sporting a pair of pince-nez glasses on his nose. On the right is a more detailed head and chest portrait of FDR, turned partially to the right, wearing a white shirt, black suit jacket, and a black bowtie and with pince-nez glasses on this nose and a cigarette holder clenched in his teeth. The drawing is signed by the artist in the lower left corner: F. S. Nixon. Large, hand drawn lettering across the bottom of the drawing reads: THE DETROIT FREE PRESS.
