DescriptionA simple Art Deco style bookend made of bronzed metal. The vertical bookend base has a simple horizontally-grooved wide band as decoration. Attached to the base is an expandable curved metal band, the tension of which holds one or more books against the base. Gray felt lines the bottom of the base. The makers mark is on the underside: Revere / Rome, N.Y. / Pat. Appld for.
Label TextPresident Roosevelt kept this bookend on his Oval Office desk. It is on display in the FDR’S OVAL OFFICE DESK exhibit in the Museum’s APRIL 12, 1945 gallery.
