DescriptionA hinged, rectangular-shaped gold cigarette case with a simple exterior design of raised diagonal lines. The interior of the case has a reflective finish with a decorative, cut design bar to hold cigarettes in place. Engraved on the interior of the cover is an inscription in Chinese characters that translates to: To Roosevelt / Gift from Chiang Kai-shek and Soong Mei-Ling.
Label TextMadame Chiang Kai-shek, wife of Chinese leader Chiang Kai-shek, gave President Franklin D. Roosevelt this gold cigarette case during her 1943 visit to the United States.
