Roy Chester SchattAmerican, 1909 - 2002
New York City native Roy Schatt studied with N.C. Wyeth and painted murals for the Works Progress Administration during the 1930s. Schatt served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After the war he worked in advertising, illustration, and photography. His photographs have been exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery, the International Center for Photography, and the Art Institute of Chicago.
