DescriptionA small front-facing head and shoulders white plaster bust of Franklin D. Roosevelt. The artist's name is inscribed on the proper right side of the bust: 19©43 / WALTER RUSSELL. The reverse of the bust bears an inscription that reads: To / FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT / Miniature replica of bust of / President Roosevelt / Presented to the People of the / United States by the AHEPA. / From / WALTER RUSSELL.
Label TextThis bust of FDR by Walter Russell, entitled The War President, was presented to President Roosevelt in 1943 by the artist. It is a miniature plaster version of the sculpture that was presented to President Roosevelt on March 10, 1943 by the Order of AHEPA, a Greek fraternal organization and which is on display on the grounds of the Roosevelt Library and Museum in Freedom Court (see MO 1946.42.1).

Custodial History NoteDeposited at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum by Franklin D. Roosevelt on July 7, 1943. It was donated as a bequest of FDR to the Library in 1947.
