DescriptionA small front-facing head and shoulders bust of Franklin D. Roosevelt. Inscribed at the front of the base is the title of the piece: THE / WAR PRESIDENT. The artist's name is inscribed on the proper right side of the bust: 19©43 / WALTER RUSSELL.
Label TextThis bust of FDR by Walter Russell is entitled, The War President. It is a miniature version of the sculpture that was presented to President Roosevelt on March 10, 1943 by the Order of AHEPA, a Greek fraternal organization and which is on display on the grounds of the Roosevelt Library and Museum in Freedom Court (see MO 1946.42.1).

Custodial History NoteDeposited at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum by Franklin D. Roosevelt on July 7, 1943. It was donated as a bequest of FDR to the Library in 1947.
