DescriptionA stamp cover commemorating the presidential yacht, USS Potomac (AG-25). The envelope has no cachet but does have a border of navy blue and red dots with “U. S. NAVY” at the top center.
The envelope is addressed to (handwritten in red and blue ink): "Hon Franklin D. Roosevelt / Washington / D.C." Adhered in the upper right corner of the envelope is a U.S. 1930 brown 1½¢ Warren G. Harding stamp (Scott 684). The envelope is postmarked U. S. S. POTOMAC, May 22, 1936 with a "1ST CANCEL / WASH, D.C." cancellation.
The return address is ink stamped in blue on the reverse of the envelope: “S. E. HUTNICK, M. D. / 5933 LANSDOWNE AVENUE / WEST PHILA., PA.”
