DescriptionA stamp cover commemorating the U.S. Navy cargo ship, USS SIRIUS (AK-15). The envelope has no cachet.

The envelope is addressed to (handwritten in red and blue ink): “The President of the United States / Mr. Franklin D. Roosevelt / Executive Mansion / Washington / D. C." Adhered in the upper right corner of the envelope are a U.S. 1923 carmine 2¢ George Washington postage stamp (Scott 554) and a U.S. 1923 deep green 1¢ Benjamin Franklin stamp (Scott 552). The envelope is postmarked U.S.S. SIRIUS, September 23 [?], 1933.

The return address is ink stamped in black on the reverse of the envelope: “S. E. HUTNICK, M. D. / 5933 LANSDOWNE AVENUE / WEST PHILADELPHIA, PA.”
