DescriptionA walnut box designed to hold medals from each of Franklin D. Roosevelt's four presidential inaugurations. Inserted into the top of the hinged lid is the Great Seal of the United States in bronze. Also inserted into the lid, in the lower right corner, are FDR's initials in bronze.
The interior of the box is lined with black velvet and has four circular depressions to hold the medals. Stored in the box are medals from the 1933 inauguration (MO 1941.41.1), the 1937 inauguration (MO 1941.41.2), the 1941 inauguration (MO 1941.41.3), and the 1945 inauguration (MO 1945.78.1).
