Physical DescriptionA dark blue necktie on which is a woven pattern consisting of evenly spaced diagonal lines formed from the name "ROOSEVELT" repeated in light blue.

The necktie was manufactured under the Cheney Brothers company brand, Cheney Cravats, and a label is sewn on the reverse of the necktie: CHENEY / CRAVATS / RESILIENT / CONSTRUCTION. Also sewn to the reverse of the necktie is the retailer's label: Woodward & Lothrop / MEN'S STORE / WASHINGTON.

An additional Cheney label is on the tie in the form of a gold paper wrapper that reads: CHENEY / CRAVATS / Constructed of fine / selected fabrics / in the seasons newest / designs and colors. / MADE IN U.S.A. / BY / CHENEY / BROTHERS / MANUFACTURERS / SINCE / 1838. Printed on the reverse of the wrapper: SILK weighted up to 40%.
