Historical NoteModel Margie Stewart (1919-2012) appeared in a popular series of U.S. Army posters that encouraged soldiers to buy war bonds and save money for their postwar lives. She was often depicted writing letters to a boyfriend in the service. Stewart was a wartime celebrity and appeared alongside Hollywood stars in war bond tours.Additional Details
