Physical DescriptionA black, white, and blue poster for the "NAVY EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM / ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOLS" series.
On the poster are two black and white photographic images, one of the "USS Lexington . . . Aircraft Carrier," and another of six "Dive bombers 'peeling off' from echelon formation." Above the image of the aircraft carrier is a text section titled, "MATHEMATICS AND SCIENCE / the Basic Requirements for all technical work," followed by a printed letter from United States Navy Rear Admiral Randall Jacobs, Chief of Naval Personnel, stating the purpose of the poster series is to acquaint America's youth "with certain desired basic educational qualifications as an aid to them in increasing their proficiency in the armed services and industry.” Below the image of the airplanes is another text block titled, "FAMOUS NAVY 'FIRSTS' IN AVIATION," with four examples.
The poster was printed by the U.S. Government Printing Office, poster no. 1942-O-483084.
