Physical DescriptionAn original black and white cartoon featuring Franklin D. Roosevelt's Scottish terrier dog, Fala. The cartoon is of an indoor scene with Fala's front paws resting on FDR's White House Oval office desk, his back legs on FDR's chair. He is examining a document that has FDR's Schedule for the day with the words "BREAFKAST," "LUNCH," and "DINNER" noticeably underlined. The Washington Monument is seen in the distance through the window. The artist's signature is in the lower left corner of the cartoon: ALAN FOSTER. The caption is handwritten in pencil below the cartoon: "I always underscore important appointments". The cartoon sheet has several publication notes written in pencil including the number "7052".
