DescriptionA Chinese watercolor painting on pith paper showing two birds perched in a partially flowering tree or bush with orange blossoms. One of the birds is small and multicolored, while the other larger bird is black with blue, orange, and white highlights.

The painting is adhered to a larger piece of silk gauze and mounted within a window mat.
Label TextThis painting is one in a collection of twenty-seven individual Chinese watercolors (MO 1979.50.1-27) featuring birds, fish, and landscape scenes. The collection is housed in a custom clamshell box on the spine of which is embossed, "F. D. R. / CHINESE RICE PAPER PAINTINGS."
