DescriptionA pottery vase. Depicted on the lower portion of the vase is an image of a face with a small protruding nose. A pattern of animal figures decorates the rest of the vase.
Label TextThis Nasca (also Nazca) culture vase is made of clay and was decorated using a pre-fire slip painting method. It is part of a collection of twenty-five selected examples (MO 1942.348.74-95) of pre-Columbian pottery from Peru that was presented to President Roosevelt by His Excellency Manuel Prado, President of the Republic of Peru, on the occasion of his visit to the United States in 1942.
