DescriptionA pottery bottle in the shape of a human figure, possibly a warrior, with a protruding nose and ears. Images of human heads are visible on either side. A single spout and handle is on one side of the bottle, and the bottom of the bottle is rounded.
Label TextThis Nasca (also Nazca) culture bottle is made of clay and was decorated using a pre-fire slip painting method. It is part of a collection of twenty-five selected examples (MO 1942.348.74-95) of pre-Columbian pottery from Peru that was presented to President Roosevelt by His Excellency Manuel Prado, President of the Republic of Peru, on the occasion of his visit to the United States in 1942.
