DescriptionA pottery aríbalo vessel. It is decorated with vertical geometric designs on the front half. A single spout is located at the top center of the vessel and has a flat lip from which hangs two small loops underneath. Two small handles protrude from the sides of the vessel on the lower half. The vessel ends in a pointed bottom.
Label TextThis pre-Columbian Late Intermediate culture vessel is made of clay and was decorated using a pre-fire slip painting method. It is part of a collection of twenty-five selected examples (MO 1942.348.74-95) of pre-Columbian pottery from Peru that was presented to President Roosevelt by His Excellency Manuel Prado, President of the Republic of Peru, on the occasion of his visit to the United States in 1942.
